Richard Fukuda was raised in a family that cherished music of all shapes an sizes, and though he wanted to become a film director when he grew up, the immediacy and flexibility of playing and producing music captured his interest. After creating material for most of his high school years, he was asked to join the Hidden Histories of San Jose Japantown project to make music for their youtube videos. He amassed a collection of over fifteen unique songs through the course of two years. Heavily inspired by instrumental artists who told stories with their instruments, the Hidden Histories songs combine genres from ambient to classical and meld Richard's influences with an Asian American feel. Many are inspired by the history of Asians in the United States such as the Japanese internment and the Reparations movements. Richard continues to work on Hidden Histories songs as well as produce music for friends and family, his dream is to connect with and work on all types of music for the rest of his life.
